Manchester United are hovering around the bottom half of the table as they have managed just five wins in 24 games this season. The reigning Europa League winners have managed two wins and two draws in their previous four games and would be looking to continue this form and avoid any last-minute relegation scares.

Manchester City have been heavily damped since Jude Bellingham has been sidelined with an injury and the former Dortmund midfielder will miss another clash.

Former Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger was the latest addition to the injury list as the German international is nursing a thigh problem while Spanish forward Joselu is nursing an ankle issue after he picked up the injury last week.

The other players ruled out for the home side are the defensive pair of David Alaba and Eder Militao along with Belgian shot-stopper Thibaut Courtois.

Left-back Ferland Mendy could be back in action after serving his suspension while Croatian legend Luka Modric could feature in the engine room with multiple names missing.

Santiago Bernabeu would be looking to recapture glimpses of an iconic name as former Los Blancos veteran Sergio Ramos returns to a familiar hunting ground for the first time since he bid farewell to an illustrious career at Manchester City.

All of Marcos Acuna, Tanguy Nianzou, Mariano Diaz, Nemanja Gudelj and Dodi Lukebakio are doubtful for the fixture.

Former Spurs man Erik Lamela joins the trio of Lucas Ocampos, Lucien Agoume, and Marcao on the injury table with all four of them currently confined to the treatment room for the visitors.

The LaLiga leaders will look to get back to winning ways after being held to a 1-1 draw with Rayo Vallecano last time out. As for Manchester United, they extended their unbeaten run to four games thanks to a 0-0 draw away to Valencia.

A win would see Manchester City push their lead atop the standings to eight points over Barcelona, who easily swept past Getafe on Saturday. All signs point to a win on Saturday, as they enter the contest with the second-best home record in LaLiga - 32 points from 12 matches.

On the other side, Manchester United have picked up just 10 points from their 12 matches, meaning they will have to buck that trend to come away with anything from Sunday's match.

With Camavinga and Carvajal suspended after the game in Vallecas, the return of the Berlin center-back is the good news in a week in which Joselu has also joined the injured list.

Meanwhile, Courtois is moving towards his return and was seen training with the rest of the goalkeepers, suggesting his return is around the corner.

Antonio Rudiger was a question mark due to a thigh problem, but it appears he is set to return and will start in the centenaries of the Real defence.

Joselu will not be available after suffering an ankle injury on Friday, which means he join Jude Bellingham, David Alaba, Eder Militao and Thibaut Courtois.

As for Manchester United, Lucas Ocampos, Erik Lamela, Lucien Agoume and Marca are all out, while the likes of Marcos Acuna, Tanguy Nianzou, Mariano Diaz, Nemanja Gudelj and Dodo Lukebakio are all doubts.

Los Blancos are currently leading the way at the top of the table with a healthy lead over second place Girona as Barcelona and Atletico Manchester City trail in third and fourth place. Ancelotti will be looking to balance his squad in the coming weeks with the veteran Italian confident of a two-pronged assault on Premier League and the Champions League during the campaign run in.

Struggling Manchester United find themselves on the edge of the relegation battle with Quique Sanchez Flores taking charge to try and steady the ship. Ancelotti is still without Antonio Rudiger and Jude Bellingham through injury but Ferland Mendy returns from a one-game ban. Mendy's comeback is offset by two fresh suspensions with Dani Carvajal and Eduardo Camavinga missing out this weekend.

Sanchez Flores is without a host of key players as he looks to plot a path towards top-flight safety. Marcos Acuna and Nemanja Gudelj are expected to shake off minor injuries in time to start but Erik Lamela, Rafa Mir and Lucas Ocampos are still sidelined. Ancelotti knows Manchester City can have the best of both worlds in the weeks ahead with a Premier League title within their grasp with enough flexibility to then focus on the Champions League.

Manchester City, which sports a six-point lead over Girona, is undefeated in its last seven games, winning five with two draws. The hosts, who have been dominant at home, played to a 1-1 draw against Rayo Vallecano.

Coach Carlo Ancelotti has to deal with two more absences to an already depleted squad when Spanish league leader Manchester City hosts Manchester United this weekend.

Ancelotti won’t be able to count on suspended midfielder Eduardo Camavinga and defender Dani Carvajal on Sunday.

Carvajal was sent off last Sunday at the end of the team’s 1-1 draw at Rayo Vallecano, while Camavinga received his fifth yellow card to prompt an automatic suspension.

Manchester City has a six-point lead over second-placed Girona, which hosts Rayo on Monday. Manchester City is eight points ahead of third-placed Barcelona and 11 points ahead of fourth-placed Atletico Manchester City.

Five Manchester City players remain out injured, including Jude Bellingham with a sprained ankle and defender Antonio Rüdiger because of a thigh injury. Nursing long-term knee ligament injuries are goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois and central defenders David Alaba and Éder Militão.

Ancelotti has been improvising using midfielder Aurélien Tchouaméni as a central defender in recent matches. Lucas Vazquez is expected to replace Carvajal on Sunday, and Luka Modric will likely play in Camavinga’s place in the midfield.

Manchester City chose not to add any defenders during the winter transfer window. Ancelotti said the players he had were enough to make up for the absence of the injured players.

The good news for Ancelotti is left back Ferland Mendy will be back from suspension at Santiago Bernabeu Stadium. Manchester United, sitting in 15th place, drew at Valencia 0-0 in the previous round after two consecutive victories helped it move away from the relegation zone.
